WHAT IS PIMS?
It's
an Intranet based information service designed to keep customers,
their Project Teams and (where 3rd parties are
involved) the end client informed of daily progress
on projects.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Customers are given
a user name and password to enter PIMS from our website. They
are then able to view the different tasks to be undertaken
along with the progress completed,
per task to date, any notes attached and any documents.
A
Bulletin Board is available on the project to pass notes to
and from our Project
Manager.
Depending
on access rights, customers can also view Microsoft Office
files that have been uploaded to the project, which can be
project letters, original quotations, etc., along with photographs,
where necessary.
A
time saving feature is that customers can 'tick' a box to enable
e-mail alerts for project changes . Once this is chosen, the
customer would automatically get an e-mail every night
where a task on the project has changed status, (ie cabling
1st floor has increased from 10% to 20% complete
for example).
If
needed an email can be received up to 4 times a day !
WHY DO I NEED IT?
By
using the e-mail facility the user/client is continually kept
informed of project progress, without any manual intervention,
and is never faced with having to say "I don't know" when asked
about the current status of a project. As a result, a clients
Project Team is able to manage projects in a more prompt, effective
and time saving manner. Furthermore decision makers and salespersons
(for example)who would not necessarily want to monitor the
project all the way through can at all times see
how a particular project is developing.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For
projects with a value of £10,000 or above PIM's is used by
our Project Team FREE OF CHARGE.

Example of a PIM's email alert.
In summary therefore
the system offers :-
A 3rd Party
can (if you request) also have limited access so that
they can view the progress of all the tasks but without access
to 'sensitive or commercial' information
Not only can this
be offered free, but it would also save your project team time
and money by keeping them always informed of your site progress.(National
Rollouts are particularly good)
Should you require
further details then please contact :-
