However, Mark Hallett of BWN Telecom recently had more reason than most to celebrate as he was the winner of a Network Cabling News (NCN) competition sponsored by Electron. His prize for correctly answering three testing questions was the latest satellite navigation system from TomTom.

Commenting on his good fortune Mark said ‘This is the first time that I have ever won anything useful. I will never need to get lost again.’

Electron Technical Services Ltd have recently achieved ZyPartner status for ZyXEL Communications UK Ltd, enabling Electron to offer the full range of ZyXEL products will full manufacturer support. Representatives from Electron attended a full day training course at ZyXEL’s UK head office in Bracknell, where they were given comprehensive training on the features of the various products, followed by a written exam.

ZyXEL is the World’s largest DSL router manufacturer and Europe’s biggest WLAN equipment vendor. They have more than 2,200 employees worldwide and a global turnover of $390 million, more than 50% of which is generated in Europe.

The Health and Safety of Electron’s employees and customers is of critical importance. Electron has a comprehensive Health and Safety Manual, detailling all aspects of our policy and procedures.

Our Health and Safety Manual was recently audited and assessed by the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), a government initiative run by Merton Council. We passed first time and have now received an accreditation certificate. We have undertaken to remain part of the scheme and, as such, our Manual will be audited on an annual basis.

After an excellent 2004, Electron have seen their status with Brand Rex increased from Registered Installer to System Centre.Over the last 12 months Electron has had the most dramatic growth amongst all of Brand Rex’s installers in the UK and their increased sales have been rewarded with their new status.

After a 12 month installation period Simon Rhodes (Electron Project Manager) is shown handing the Brand Rex 25 year Performance Warranty to Aston University’s Dennis Mottram.The highly successful project with a value in excess of £1 million encompassed infrastructure cabling to over 6,100 Category 6 LSOH outlets along with 24 km’s of OM 3/OS 1 fibre connecting between 55 wiring centres.The majority of the works were carried out by Electron ‘outside of normal working hours’.At its peak Electron had over 30 staff on site.Aston University are now utilising their new state of the art infrastructure for Voice, Data and Video services across their large campus.
